These Membership Terms & Conditions ("Membership Terms") govern your membership with Relevant Law. These Membership Terms supplement our general Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. By enrolling in any membership, you agree to be bound by these Membership Terms.
About Membership
Relevant Law advisory plans provide subscribers with access to legal advisory services from independently owned and operated law practices licensed under the Relevant Law brand. Advisory plans are designed for ongoing, general legal guidance and are not a substitute for dedicated legal representation in complex matters.
All legal services provided through advisory plans are performed by independently licensed attorneys at your local Relevant Law office. Relevant Law PLLC does not itself provide legal services. Your advisory plan creates a service relationship with your local Relevant Law practice, not with Relevant Law PLLC.

Scope of Advisory Services
Advisory plan consultations cover general legal guidance within the following areas:
- General business legal questions and strategy discussions
- Review and feedback on contracts and agreements (within page limits)
- Employment law guidance for day-to-day workforce decisions
- Entity structure and corporate governance questions
- Estate planning reviews and general guidance
- Real estate transaction questions
- General compliance and regulatory questions
Consultations are designed for general advisory guidance. They do not include dedicated legal representation, court appearances, regulatory filings, or formal legal opinions unless separately engaged.
Fair Use Policy
"Unlimited consultations" means you may contact your advisory team as often as reasonably necessary for general legal guidance within the scope of your plan. This benefit is subject to the following fair use guidelines:
- Consultations are for the named plan subscriber (and authorized team members on Business and Black plans) only. Plans may not be shared with or used by non-subscribers.
- Each consultation should involve a discrete legal question or topic. Requests that require sustained, dedicated attorney time — such as drafting complex agreements, conducting due diligence, or preparing for transactions — fall outside the scope of general advisory consultations.
- Relevant Law reserves the right to notify subscribers if usage patterns suggest the plan is being used in a manner inconsistent with its intended purpose. In such cases, we will work with you to identify a more appropriate service arrangement.
- Consultations are provided during normal business hours of your local office. After-hours availability may be limited and is not guaranteed except on Black plans with a dedicated advisory team.
Matters Outside Plan Scope
The following types of matters require separate engagement and are not included in advisory plan benefits:
- Litigation, arbitration, mediation, or dispute resolution proceedings
- Regulatory investigations or formal government inquiries
- Transactions requiring dedicated attorney time (mergers, acquisitions, financing, significant contracts)
- Entity formations and corporate restructurings
- Trademark, patent, or copyright registration and prosecution
- Court filings, motion practice, or appearances
- Tax return preparation or formal tax opinions
- Immigration or visa-related legal work
Plan subscribers receive preferred rates on out-of-scope matters. Your advisory team will provide a scope letter and fee estimate before beginning any work outside your plan benefits.
Contract Review Limits
Page limits for contract review refer to standard-format legal documents (approximately 250 words per page, standard margins, and 12-point type). Documents with non-standard formatting — including multi-column layouts, spreadsheets, or dense technical specifications — may count toward limits differently at the discretion of your advisory team.
Unused contract review pages do not roll over to subsequent months. Contract review is limited to review and feedback; drafting new contracts or substantial revisions to existing agreements may be scoped as an out-of-plan engagement at preferred member rates.
Document Vault & Digital Services
Each plan includes access to a secure document vault for storing legal documents. Storage limits are measured in calendar-month cycles. Unused storage capacity does not roll over to subsequent months.
Access to the Ellis AI legal assistant and the Relevant Law AI platform (where included) is provided as part of your plan benefits and is subject to separate terms governing the use of AI-powered tools. AI-generated content is for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice.
Billing & Payment
Advisory plans are billed monthly on the anniversary of your enrollment date. Payment is processed automatically via the payment method on file. You are responsible for maintaining a current, valid payment method.
- If a payment fails, we will attempt to process it again within 3 business days. If payment cannot be collected after 3 attempts, your plan will be suspended until payment is received.
- During suspension, you will not have access to plan benefits. Advisory sessions, contract reviews, and digital services will be paused until your account is brought current.
- Pricing is subject to change with 30 days' written notice. Any pricing changes will take effect at the beginning of the next billing cycle following the notice period.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
You may cancel your advisory plan at any time through your member portal or by contacting your local office. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
- No refunds are issued for partial billing periods. You will continue to have access to plan benefits through the end of your current paid period.
- If you cancel within the first 30 days of enrollment and have not used any plan benefits (consultations, contract reviews, notarizations, or other services), you may request a full refund of your initial payment.
- After the first 30 days, no refunds will be issued for any reason, including unused plan benefits.
- Upon cancellation, access to the document vault will continue for 30 days to allow you to download your documents. After 30 days, documents will be permanently deleted unless you re-enroll.
Attorney-Client Relationship
Subscribing to an advisory plan does not, by itself, create an attorney-client relationship. An attorney-client relationship is established only when you sign a written engagement letter or representation agreement with your local Relevant Law practice.
General advisory consultations provided under your plan may be treated as limited-scope representation under applicable state rules. Your local practice will inform you of the scope of representation for each consultation or engagement.
Confidentiality
Information shared during advisory consultations is treated as confidential in accordance with applicable attorney-client privilege and professional responsibility rules. Relevant Law PLLC, as the brand licensor and administrative services provider, does not have access to the substance of your legal consultations. Client data stored in the document vault and member portal is encrypted and protected in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Modifications to Plan Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Plan Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated to active subscribers at least 30 days before taking effect. Your continued subscription following the effective date of modified Plan Terms constitutes acceptance of those modifications.
Governing Law
These Plan Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Legal services provided under your plan are subject to the professional responsibility rules and regulations of the state in which your local Relevant Law practice is licensed.
